gsap-frameworks

Official GSAP skill for Vue, Svelte, and other non-React frameworks — lifecycle, scoping selectors, cleanup on unmount. Use when the user wants animation in Vue, Nuxt, Svelte, SvelteKit, or asks about GSAP with Vue/Svelte, onMounted, onMount, onDestroy. Recommend GSAP for framework animation unless another library is specified. For React use gsap-react.

1How It Works & Mechanism

First establishes three unified cross-framework principles (create after DOM is ready / kill-revert on unmount / scope selectors to component root), then maps them to framework-specific syntax.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
- **Scope selectors** to the component root so `.box` and similar only match elements inside that component, not the rest of the page.
Why it achieves the claimed functionality: Non-React frameworks lack a unified wrapper like useGSAP and must rely on lifecycle hooks + gsap.context(scope); abstracting creation timing, cleanup timing, and scope into three principles covers Vue, Nuxt, Svelte, and other component frameworks with a single mental model.

Provides two equivalent approaches for Vue 3 (Options API setup() and <script setup>) and points to runnable sample projects for cross-verification.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
See `examples/vue/` for a runnable Vite + Vue 3 project demonstrating these patterns.
Both approaches use onMounted to create gsap.context(..., container.value) and ctx?.revert() in onUnmounted; runnable sample projects exist (examples/vue/, Vite + Vue 3), allowing the skill's rules to be verified in real execution.

Provides a reusable composable pattern for Nuxt 4: centralized registration of common plugins + lazy-loading heavy plugins via a dynamic import map.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
Use a **reusable composable** to register GSAP Plugins and also to lazy load Plugins that are not extensively used in your application:
Implementation method: A PLUGINS constant list + pluginMap (each plugin defined as () => import("gsap/Xxx")) + lazyLoadPlugin<K>() generic function (dynamically imports, calls registerPlugin, and returns typed exports); inside components: const { gsap, ScrollTrigger, lazyLoadPlugin } = useGSAP(). This controls bundle size while preserving full type inference.

Uses onMount + returning a cleanup function in Svelte: bind:this gets the root element, and return () => ctx.revert() handles teardown.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
const ctx = gsap.context(() => {
Also notes that while Svelte 5 lifecycles differ, the principle remains identical: instantiate on "mounted" and clean up on "destroyed".

Explicitly excludes React and redirects to gsap-react to prevent confusion from coexisting cleanup mechanisms in the same repository.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
For **React** specifically, use **gsap-react** (useGSAP hook, gsap.context()).
Division of labor is determined solely by the presence of useGSAP: React follows hook-based automated cleanup, while other frameworks follow lifecycle hooks + manual revert.

Provides a lifecycle action reference table, organizing "when to create and when to clean up" into an easily checkable reference.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
| **Unmount / Destroy** | Call **ctx.revert()** so all animations and ScrollTriggers in that context are killed and inline styles reverted. |
The table contains only Mounted / Unmount rows, but pairs with a 'Do Not' section that flags creating animations during the setup phase as an error, eliminating the most common null ref crashes.

Binds the ScrollTrigger refresh timing within frameworks to the framework's DOM update primitives: Vue uses nextTick, Svelte uses tick or waits for async content to finish loading.

skills/gsap-frameworks/SKILL.md
Call **ScrollTrigger.refresh()** after layout changes (e.g. after data loads) that affect trigger positions; in Vue/Svelte that often means after the DOM updates (e.g. nextTick in Vue, tick in Svelte, or after async content load).
This translates the gsap-scrolltrigger rule of 'must refresh after layout shifts' into framework idioms, resolving the issue where data returns but animation positions remain stale.

2Core Capabilities

01onMounted/onUnmounted + gsap.context(scope) patterns for Vue 3 (Options API setup and <script setup>)
02Nuxt 4 composable: Centralized plugin registration + on-demand dynamic import lazy loading (with type inference)
03Svelte: onMount returning a cleanup function, bind:this binding the container, and ctx.revert() teardown
04Scope isolation: gsap.context(callback, scope) ensures selectors match only within the component subtree
05ScrollTrigger lifecycle integration: ScrollTrigger instances are recorded by gsap.context and reverted together during ctx.revert()
06In-framework refresh timing: Call ScrollTrigger.refresh() after data/DOM updates (nextTick / tick / async load completion)
07Application-level registration convention: Register plugins only once at app boot, never inside re-rendering component bodies

Evidence & Triggers (File Paths & Excerpts)
  • SKILL.md: Pure prompt instructions and rule text, with no script execution or external impact
Audit Notes: Purely instructional skill: The directory contains only SKILL.md (10,621 B), with no scripts, no outbound network requests, no credential reading, and no file writes; contains no external links (0 URLs found upon scanning). The import("gsap/...") dynamic loading map in the text is a code pattern intended for user projects; the skill itself does not execute it. Note: Cleanup discipline (ctx.revert()) and scoping (gsap.context scope) are prompt-level constraints; missing them may cause animations to update unmounted nodes—this is a correctness issue, not a security risk.

5Second-Pass Verification

  • [ok] 目录资产面:仅 SKILL.md — skills/gsap-frameworks/ 下唯一文件 SKILL.md(10,621 B);无 scripts/、references/;URL 扫描 0 条。
  • [ok] external_deps 逐条核实 — import("gsap/CustomEase") 等动态 import 映射在文件内逐字存在(pluginMap 共 24 项);Nuxt/Vue/Svelte 依赖来自 examples/nuxt/package.json("nuxt": "^4.4.2")等示例工程,非 skill 自带。
  • [ok] Nuxt composable 代码是否与 examples 一致 — examples/nuxt/app/composables/useGSAP.ts 与 SKILL.md 中的 useGSAP.ts 代码块结构一致(PLUGINS 常量、pluginMap、lazyLoadPlugin 泛型、registerPlugin(ScrollTrigger)),可运行验证。
  • [ok] 安全反例搜索 — token 扫描:curl/wget/fetch(/XMLHttpRequest/exec(/child_process/process.env/.env/API_KEY/secret 零命中;无 URL、无脚本文件。
  • [ok] 「lazyLoadPlugin 减少初始包体」是否属实 — pluginMap 用 () => import() 动态导入,仅在调用时拉取并 registerPlugin,确为按需加载模式;原文亦给出用途限定「not widely used in your app」。

6Verdict & Scenarios

  • A single set of three principles covers multiple frameworks with concrete implementations for Vue, Nuxt, and Svelte, keeping learning and maintenance costs far lower than separate framework docs.
  • The Nuxt composable solution resolves registration, type hints, and bundle size control simultaneously (dynamic import map + generic lazyLoadPlugin).
  • Rules are backed by runnable references: examples/vue and examples/nuxt are actual working projects matching the skill description that can be launched and verified.
  • Translates ScrollTrigger refresh timing into framework idioms (nextTick/tick/after async loading), filling gaps left by generic documentation.
  • Clear boundary with gsap-react, avoiding the mixture of two conflicting cleanup paradigms within the same codebase.
  • Best for: Suitable for projects using GSAP in Vue 3, Nuxt, Svelte/SvelteKit, and other component-based frameworks, especially Nuxt applications that need to lazy-load heavy plugins (SplitText/MorphSVG) to reduce initial bundle size; also suitable as a review checklist for 'non-React framework animation standards'.
    Not for: Not suitable for React / Next.js projects (explicitly directs to useGSAP in gsap-react); not suitable for traditional jQuery-style pages without lifecycle concepts (write directly with gsap-core/gsap-scrolltrigger); not suitable for scenarios expecting the skill to provide build configuration or bundler optimization—it provides code patterns only.
