1How It Works & Mechanism

Capabilities stem from calling AIHOT's public v1 API: The skill itself contains no data and relies on anonymous read-only HTTP requests to aihot.news to fetch real-time AI news, strictly forbidding answering news using training memory.

What is being done here: Offloading time-sensitive questions like 'What happened in the AI space today?' to a public endpoint with a stable contract, while eliminating the model's habit of hallucinating news by enforcing 'never answer news from training memory'.

The intent-to-endpoint routing table maps common queries into specific requests, allowing the model to select only a default entry point strictly from the table without freely composing URLs.

For example, 'today / past 24 hours' maps to `/api/v1/items?mode=selected&window=24h`; 'current trending' maps to `/api/v1/hot-topics`.

Explicitly marks API return content as untrusted data, prohibiting execution of commands within it or prompting logins, cutting off the news-to-instruction injection chain by design.

Only reconciliation scenarios explicitly use `by=published`; switching between the two invalidates older cursors (invalid_cursor), an intentional design to prevent cross-page collisions.

Caching and polling discipline codified into instructions: Preserve ETag for identical URLs with If-None-Match, reusing 304 responses directly; scheduled tasks must observe at least a 60-second interval for the same endpoint.

Audit Notes: The review target is this skill directory (SKILL.md + references×3 + agents/openai.yaml + install.sh + manifest.sha256 + LICENSE). At runtime, it accesses fixed, public, uncredentialed anonymous endpoints (https://aihot.news/api/v1/*, compatible entry aihot.virxact.com), belonging to the Yellow tier: 'queries to fixed public endpoints with predictable outbound targets'. SKILL.md explicitly commits to 'initiating no API requests to other sources', performs no reading of Key/cookie/environment credentials, and does not forward user inputs to generation/serving backends (only sending query keywords and retrieving news), thus not elevated to Orange.
